HOLYPORT W.I. MONTHLY REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER

Wendy opened the meeting and welcomed three visitors. The raffle as drawn for the donated prize for an afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason. The lucky winner was Pauline J who will take her prize sometime between now and Christmas. The raffle made £84.00 this will go towards our funds.

Janet reported on our walk 32 that had taken place in July. A small group of about 8 people had walked from Aston to Remenham Church and back. It had been a very pleasant evening enjoyed by all, finishing with refreshments at The Flower Pot public house. Janet said walks 33 and 34 are planned for September – Knowl Hill and October – Cliveden.

The Garden Party on the 10th of August at Ann M house had been a great success. We raised £164.00 for our funds. Pauline J presented Ann with flowers and wine as a thank you to her for hosting the event.

Entertainment for our December meeting is under way, a sub committee is to be set up by Janet, Barbara and Jan. The first meeting will be held in early October at the Belgian Arms.

Our speaker for the evening had been Joyce Meader her topic “Historic Knitting.” Debbie gave the vote of thanks.

Diane thanked all those who had sent her their good wishes after her recent operation and then her recovery at home.

Wendy closed the meeting at 10 o clock.
